What is sing bowl?

A singing bowl is a type of musical instrument that produces a harmonious sound when it is played. It is an ancient instrument that originated in Nepal but has also been used in other parts of Asia, including China, Japan, and India.

Traditionally, singing bowls are made of a special brass alloy known as panchaloha, which is a mixture of five different metals: copper, tin, zinc, iron, and brass. They come in different sizes, shapes, and designs, and can also be made of other metals such as silver or gold.

To play a singing bowl, a mallet is used to strike the rim of the bowl or to make it sing by rubbing the mallet around the rim. The vibration produced by the bowl creates a calming and meditative sound that can be used in yoga, meditation, sound healing, and other spiritual practices.

Modern Singing bowls have also been used in western music and sound therapy. They are believed to have healing properties and can help reduce stress, anxiety, and insomnia. Some people also use them for their decorative value in homes and offices.
